Get Real!

In this class, you will work with one of our Certified Professional Dog Trainers at different outdoor locations in either the Hamden Area (East Rock to Hamden) or the Shoreline Area (East Haven to Madison). You’ll learn strategies for working with your dog around distractions and for building up your dog’s ability to behave appropriately out and about in the real world. 

These sessions are great practice for teams interested in Canine Good Citizen certification, Community Canine certification, or Therapy Dog work. Sessions will focus on polite walking, paying attention, skills from the CGC and Therapy Dog evaluations, and other aspects of teamwork and obedience. A new location each week will help polish your dog's skills in multiple environments and around a wide range of distractions.

These classes are kept small because of the complexity of the working environment.

Specific locations are shared once you register. In the event of unsafe weather (e.g., lightning or extreme heat), class will be canceled and rescheduled.
